Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How do I know I am registered for the week I
want?
A: You will receive a Welcome Package within
2 weeks. Please
check the invoice for accuracy, as that includes the schedule. The
Welcome Package also requests information about your child to help
make your child’s experience fun and safe.
Q: How do I get in touch with you during
the day?
A: In your Welcome Package you will get our cell
phone numbers. All Counselors and Life-guards are provided with cell
phones.
Q: What if my child forgets his/her lunch?
A: We will never let a child go hungry. We
always have snacks on hand.
Q: What do you do when there is a thunderstorm??
A: We have two huge army tents with grounded poles.
We have lots of battery operated lanterns and many activities planned.
Should a weather emergency occur (hurricane or tornado), camp will
be cancelled.
Q: What happens if there is an emergency?
A: During our week long training before camp, all
of our counselors are well versed in emergency procedures. Our
lifeguards are trained in first aid and CPR.
Q: You have no electricity, how do you get
your water?
A: We have a fifty gallon barrel (for hand washing)
and 5 gallon coolers which we refill with fresh town water each morning.
Q. How often do campers apply sunscreen?
A. Sunscreen is applied at least twice
daily, and always before going to the waterfront. If your child has
fair skin, we recommend swim shirts and hats even in the water to
prevent burns.
